Sharon Potter, BFA, CIDOWNER, SHARON POTTER, BFA, CID

Red Chair is the result of a lifelong desire to own a creative business. I launched my first entrepreneurial venture when I was about 9. The Mod Shop, a boutique for my paper mache jewelry creations was housed in my pink playhouse in the back yard. My customers consisted of my mother, father and grandmother. It was the seed of my dream and the beginning of my creative journey!

I've been involved in all kinds of creative work since I graduated from art school, always searching to find just the right vehicle for my many artistic urges. I've discovered one of the brightest and most consistent threads in the creative fabric of my world has been that of decorating!

My family encouraged me to experiment with color and fabrics early on. I was just finishing up 5th grade when my mother let me choose the color scheme, carpet, countertops, and drapery fabric for my bedroom suite in the new home she was contracting for us. Looking back, that was an unbelievable vote of confidence!
